At Clearwater Events, we don't just think about environmental sustainability. Our work is guided by a deep respect for the land, the people who have cared for it since time immemorial, and the belief that every event is an opportunity to show up with care and intention.
Through years of working alongside Indigenous communities, my understanding of sustainability has grown to include not just environmental stewardship, but relational accountability, reciprocity and respect. These teachings continue to shape how I plan, lead, and collaborate - and I'm grateful to the many Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community leaders who have shared the time, wisdom and guidance.
2. Planet always
We treat every event as a chance to show a little extra love to the planet. That might look like using rentals instead of disposables, sourcing locally and seasonally, or cutting down on printing. Small choices add up - and we'll help you make the ones that resonate with you most.
1. PEOPLE FIRST
Every event we plan starts with the people - their stories, their needs. We prioritize creating welcoming spaces where everyone feels seen and celebrated. We also love working with diverse, local, and independent vendors who share our values.
3. Relational planning
For us, planning is about more than timelines and to-do lists - it's about relationships. With the land, with the people involved, and with the purpose behind the gathering. We take the time to listen, ask meaningful questions, and honour the places and communities we're working within.
4. Progress over perfection
Sustainability can feel overwhelming - we understand entirely. But it doesn't have to be all or nothing. We believe in taking small, thoughtful steps that move us in the right direction.
